Last Call for Books!

All library materials will be due this Friday, May 29th. Overdue notices and fines will be issued next week. The library will be undergoing many changes this summer, so when you return in the Fall, you'll notice some neat changes.

Thanks for supporting the Sheridan Park School Library this year. It was a lot of fun!

what's up?

Well, the month of May is upon us. The Sheridan Park Library has seen a few changes over the course of the previous few weeks. The BIG change was the implementation of Destiny. This is a great resource for all students and teachers here at SP. There is still a steep learning curve ahead but slowly and surely, we will all be used to this wonderful system. Our Library also has some new furniture. Thanks to the SP Parent Council for the lovely chairs. They are used daily by our students and enjoyed by all. Finally, we continue to purchase books here at SP. New titles are being processed such as the latest 39 Clues book.

Our Library will be undergoing major renovations over the summer. And so, I will be asking for all Library materials to be returned by June 1, 2009. At this point, Library materials will no longer be available for circulation. The change will be worth it!

What's New?

Hello students:
Why not drop by the Library? We have many new books to peruse and enjoy. We have new non-fiction books exploring the solar system or astrology. We even have fiction novels that will entice... As for Playaways, we have over 20 new titles to choose from such at the 39 clues and Benny and Omar. So, what are you waiting for? Come up, relax in our comfy chairs and enjoy a book today!

Destiny Has Arrived

Our new library search tool has arrived. Over the course of the next few months, our Sheridan Park students will become familiar with this programme. The neat thing is that you can access this from any computer at any time. Destiny is web based. My suggestion is that you book mark the site and use it often.

Destiny is coming!

It has been a while since I last wrote. Just wanting to let the Sheridan Park community know that our Library system will be undergoing renovations. Specifically, the check out system is being overhauled and with this will come many neat changes. For one, students will be able to access our book database from home. Another neat change is in the userface of the site. More modern in appearance.

Another interesting bit of information: Mrs. Breadner's grade 2/3 class is currently completing their Blue Spruce Reading Club. Voting will take place to elect their most favourite book. I post the results on line.

Black History Month

This month is Black History Month. Let's celebrate the accomplishments and achievements of these wonderful individuals who have helped shape Canada over the years.

Our Library contains several titles which celebrate Black History, here are two titles.
Why not sign them out and publish a post about the books?
